Normality has once again ascended upon Grays Chapel...
My mum and Pat left last night. I went with Doug to the airport and watched as they checked in, just to make sure they were actually going, and I wasn't going to be woken up this morning with them shouting "surprise!"
Here's a few photos I found of them taken during their stay:

Come on now Chris, you know you really loved your mummy and godmummy visiting you.
Enjoy the rest of your time there, and thank you for letting me share in a small part of it, and thanks for running us about like you did.
Be good or else we're coming back.
Miss you already (again).
xxxxx
So glad to have you back girls, can't wait to see you and hear all about your visit.
Charlotte spotted Mandy on Flixton Drive yesterday, so rest assured Chris, she really is back in the UK and not lurking in some shopping mall in NC...and thanks soooo much for putting the pic of "them" outside the church the correct way up!!!!!!
...that was my deleted comment, I was trying to correct a mistake without anyone noticing....no chance of that eh?
Well we seemed to have gotten rid of 2 of the British. We found out how...just make them shop 'til they drop. Unfortunately this strategy does not work on Chris. He seems to love shopping. Will he ever go home? If so, does anyone want to wager a guess of how many suitcases it will take to get him back to Crewe?
(PS: Pat, how about scanning and emailing a picture of Mandy with all those shopping packages up to her ears in the backseat. I think we are all interested in seeing that one.)

We noticed your mistake, Julie. But we won't tell anyone here in Grays Chapel. What were you hiding, anyway? -M & D
Julie - Talking of suitcases, it's just as well that Justin and Victoria are coming over next Summer as I did return the suitcase belonging to Goug and Mary as you asked me to, but sadly with all that shopping that Chris MADE us do, the poor thing has returned to Crewe again. By the time they take it home again, I estimate it will have travelled about 20,000 miles in 1 year. A very well travelled little bag eh!!
It could tell you some tales I can tell you!!!
Love you Chris - be safe skiing XXX
Mary - who is "Goug" ?
is there something you need to share with us ? - (I refer to Mandys comment) or is it my wife having a silver surfers moment ?
May I say a big thankyou to the folks at Grays Chapel for the hospitality and friendship you all showed to Mandy and Pat during their visit to your community.( it was very quiet/peaceful/tranquilic/blissful/stress free/haemodynamically stable - I am sorry , getting carried away - without them)
Just realised that Mandy and Pat will read this.
I missed them both greatly and couldn't wait to see them home
again.(phew)
Thanks once again to you all - i've been getting the stories and they were so glad that they had the opportunity to make the visit.
Chris - it took your Dad about 2 hours to publish that last comment. Please hurry up and get the "Silver Surfers" IT lessons going.

Chris, what's with the two old rockers in the back of your truck?
Less of the "old" Reverend please!!!
Chris....
When you were small
And just a touch away
I covered you with blankets
Against the cool night air
But now that you're tall
And out of my reach
I fold my hands together
And cover you with prayer.
Mandy, that poem is lovely.
The rockers in the back of the truck Reverend, were quite new actually and only delivered the day before Thanksgiving. I don't think it is very fair to call them old when the picture doesn't really show off the beauty of them!! Quite plain but very classy!
It was good to see Mandy and Pat again after having met them in Crewe this summer. Mary sent this site on so I could see what you had all been up to. I love the rocker picture - Nothing but the best for transportation in the US!!
Aww, thanks for the poem. I'm in a ski resort at the moment, spending the night in a hotel, then going skiing tomorrow
Wow, Mandy - what a beautiful poem! Did you write that? I'm a bit choked up - must be all the baby hormones...
Steve,
Doug is my husband. Goug is my Good husband who is going to surprise me and take me to the Snowshoe resort in WV like Chris went on. Right Goug? (It is better than what my grandmother used to call Doug. She used to call him "Dud." In US English that means something that is lacking. Frown). Anyway, back to our suitcase that Pat and Mandy took back to the UK on it's second trip. We should see if Delta airlines will give the luggage frequent flyer miles. This might be a stretch since Mandy brought it over suspiciously empty. At least we should put a sticker on it each time it makes an international flight. Hopefully we can come and retrieve it before this summer and THEN Justin and/or Victoria can bring it back once again. But only if my Good Goug and not Dud Doug is paying for the next trip. Smile

Mandy,
Perhaps you were bringing a suspiciously empty suitcase across the border to bring back some of your friend's millions. After all you and Pat have prison contacts, right? I think I saw you making "a deal" on one of Chris' photos posted in Nov.
