First Youth Band Practice

Yesterday we had the first youth band practice. I decided on four songs to do - Blessed be your name, Better than life, Shine for you, and From the inside out. Four singers came, a drummer, and an acoustic guitarist. We practiced 'better than life' and 'blessed be your name', which went pretty well.

I'm hoping to get a bassist, keyboard player, and another guitarist here next week, so we can work on the music part of it more.

Glad you've got going with the band. I thing this will be someting you'll really enjoy.
Maybe you should forget about the new style service and organise some I.T. lessons for the over 40s.
Do you need another singer ?

Ok. I'm going to try my best not to make any silver surfer errors here, come on girls (and Ray), who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks....if we can multi task then surely we can do this blogging thing - successfully!
It's really great hearing about all you're getting up to Chris. You're sure having an awesome time!
Still waiting for the Barney photos...mind you there are people I know who when they heard you were dressing up as "Barney" thought you were going to be a cuddly purple dinosaur!!
Remeber to do some recordings of the youth band so we can all listen when you get back.

Sounds really good what you're doing Chris. Hope it all goes according to plan. Get someone to video what you're up to(Given that you've not lost the camera!!)
Not bad for a balding silver surfer!!!

Why is Ray called Bert?
Great to hear what you are doing Chris. I bet you are glad the band has now started and i know you will do a good job in leading them.
Where are the Barney photo's? You know there are an awful lot of people who would like to see them....only because they are interested in what you are up to!!!
And listen to your father and video the band and other things you are doing.
Give our love to the Millers, big hug for Jordon.

Will they be selling cars at the fayre...? *wink wink, nudge nudge*

There's one car for sale at the fayre, it's sort of red with a few cosmetic alterations to one or two pannels.

Its good to hear how you are doing out there in the States. Your Mum was keen to tell me where I could contact you.
Hope your band practice goes well when the new members turn up. Are you learning plenty to bring back and share with the church back here in cold damp crewe.

Yeah, I think I'll be bringing quite a bit back to Crewe. Hopefully I'll bring back the weather too!

And you're right, it's only cosmetic, and haven't you taught us before that it's not what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside David? :D And that's good, it means that I'll have no choice but to buy a new car!

Can anybody video the service? It would be great to see what the band's doing. Hope the practice goes well!

Are you now anonynous Chris. Has this new technology got the better of you. The Silver Surfers can give you lessons if you like. Can't video the service as you have the video camera. (We hope!!)
Dad says it's not a car, it's modern art. He's entering it for the Turner Prize. this is all wonderful fun. Just what God intended. I know he's smiling.

I have access to the "Barney" pictures. How much is it worth? Since I am on a sabbatical and am not working, I could make a good profit on the price bidding war of these pictures between Chris and you folks in Crewe. Smile. --Mother Mary

PS. Jordan is doing fine. We do appreciate all your prayers across the pond. She is back in school and hopefully will be seizure free for a while. Chris has been a good "big brother" with his patience and compassion. Yep, that's right, he has a lot of compassion. Ask Chris how he is using his cooking skills to cheer up our family. --Mother Mary, again

I have some Barney Rubble photos in my possession - I think they will look good on the big screen at church!

Anonymous said...

I don't think they will...

Pat said...

Yabba dabba doo!
Oh they will!
Can't wait!!!!!

We're soooo sorry about Chris' new hair style. We tried to talk him out of it but he insisted that if he was going to be "Barney Rubble," he should look authentic. But don't worry mum and dad. The hair salon tech said that his hair color should be back to normal in a few months.

Julie said...

That salon did a great job.....Chris really suits a blonde bob style, and they did an even more spectacular job on Doug....they must have spent ages styling his hair to make all those gorgeous curls!!

You're all very mean people...

You're all asking for it, getting dressed up like that! ;o)
